What is the CPS (Clicks Per Second) Test?

The CPS Test, or the Clicks Per Second Test, is an online tool that measures your number of clicks in a given time frame. It can be used as a time-passing game, or help improve your mouse-clicking speed. The tool’s purpose is simple, to test both mouse-clicking and finger-tapping pace. Regularly using the CPS test tool will eventually help you improve your clicks per second speed and accuracy.

So, are you ready to challenge your finger’s tapping speed? Or perhaps you’re a gamer looking to gain an edge with faster clicking pace? Let’s see what your CPS score is and how fast you can click in 1 second!

Key features of CPS tester?

  1. Left/Right Click Selection: You are given the option to select which button click to track. By default, it’s set to “Left” click. Just toggle the button to make it act as a right-click CPS tester.
  2. Seconds Selection: After that, select the desired time duration for the tool to count your clicks. The tool offers multiple time intervals: 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 30, 60, and 100 seconds. By default, it’s set to 5 seconds.
  3. Start Clicking: That’s it, now just tap your finger as fast as you can and check your CPS score after the timer stops.
  4. Real-Time Feedback: When your time interval ends, a modal window will open, showing your clicks-per-second test score.
  5. No Usage Limit: You can try the tool as many times as you want. There are no limitations, not even sign-up is required.

Note that the timer will start ticking as soon as you click on the gray sphere, that says “CLICK HERE TO START PLAYING”. Keep on clicking at your max speed until the timer reaches zero. Your CPS score will pop up on your screen showing how many clicks you did in the selected time frame. Our versatile tool is fully responsive and works on all types of devices, whether it’s a mobile or a desktop.

How CPS is Calculated

Simply divide the number of clicks by the number of seconds to compute your clicks-per-second score. For example, if you click 100 times in 10 seconds, your CPS score would be 10 CPS. No need to worry, our tool automatically calculates this for you after each test.

Clicks Per Second (CPS) = Total Clicks / Total Seconds

Clicks Per Second = 100 / 10 = 10 CPS

5 seconds5 – 812 – 14
10 seconds5 – 712 – 13
20 seconds4 – 611 – 12
30 seconds4 – 610 – 11
60 seconds4 – 58 – 9
100 seconds3 – 46 – 8

Note:

  1. Please note that people may get slightly higher CPS scores on mobile devices and tablets than on desktops and laptops. The reason is simple: naturally, our tapping speed is a bit higher than the clicking pace.
  2. As the time frame increases, the clicks-per-second rate decreases slightly due to finger fatigue. No worries, with practice, you can get higher mouse-clicking rates over longer durations as well. Just challenge yourself even harder every single time.

Disclaimer:

The CPS rates provided above are estimated average results based on the available data and community reports. Since there is no official CPS leaderboard, these numbers are just approximations and should be considered as such. The clicks per second results may vary depending on the platform (mobile, tablet, laptop) and the clicking techniques.

What is a Good CPS Test Score?

On average, people mostly score around 5 to 8 CPS in a 5-second test, so anything above that is considered fast. However, professional gamers can reach up to 12 to 14 CPS or even higher depending on the special clicking techniques. But remember, consistency and accuracy are key fundamentals in gaming.

How to Improve Your Mouse Clicking Speed

You just need to increase your number of clicks per unit time (1 second). Here are some of the tricks that will help you out.

  • Practice Regularly: Improve your clicking speed by practicing regularly. Like any other skill, practice makes perfect.
  • Experiment with Different Clicking Techniques: Try various clicking methods, such as jitter or butterfly clicking, to find the most effective one.
  • Stay Relaxed and Focused: Tension can slow you down, so maintaining focus and relaxing your hand can boost your CPS rate.
  • Use a Gaming Mouse: A gaming mouse with optimized settings can improve your CPS score, as they often have better sensitivity.
  • Improve Finger Dexterity: Work on finger dexterity through different hand exercises to enhance your tapping speed.

FAQs

CPS can help improve your clicking speed and reaction time which is actually a key factor in games that require fast clicking. Having good CPS will definitely enhance your gaming performance, by giving you a competitive edge.

The average CPS score is around 5-8 CPS in a 5-second test. Actually, it depends on the selected time interval. The CPS rate slightly decreases as the time frame increases.

Of course! You can improve your CPS score with regular practice, trying different techniques, and using a high-quality gaming mouse.

Technically, yes. Human limitations and the physical design of the mouse can somehow limit your CPS score. Techniques like jitter or butterfly clicking can help you achieve higher clicking speed.

No, not for all, but rather only in certain games like Minecraft or shooting games, where fast clicking gives you a tactical advantage. While for other games, accuracy might be more important than speed.
